At a PI meeting during the ZNN2011 Conference in Bergen, November 4-6, there was full consensus about the generated value generated by the three annual meetings and it was decided to try get Norwegian or Nordic funding for another 3-5 years with an Annual ZNN Conference and co-organized PhD course.

During 2009 to 2011, a total of 32 graduate students have got hands-on training in zebrafish husbandry and research methods like microinjection of plasmid vectors and morpholinos. In 2010 the course focused on ZFNs with Keith Joung as chief teacher.
